Emma has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and started selling her homemade muffins at a local farmer’s market in Vermont at the age of 4. Emma and her family moved to SW Florida when Emma was 5. Emma first fell in love with marine life while in preschool and would spend hours watching Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s live video feeds of the animals. Since preschool, Emma has studied everything she can on marine life and marine biology. She’s taken several marine biology classes at MOTE Marine Aquarium in Sarasota and her family has been a member there since moving to Florida.
At the age of 8, Emma started painting pictures of marine life and selling them at SharkCon in Tampa and other craft fairs. She started her Art by the Ocean Etsy shop in 2021 at the age of 11 and sells some of her paintings there. Emma has donated 10% of the proceeds to MOTE Marine Aquarium, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, the GA Aquarium, and the Bimini Biological Field Station Shark Lab in Bimini Bahamas.
Emma hopes to attend college to study the field of Marine Biology, but also enjoys dance, singing, and theater.
A portion of the proceeds of the sale of this book and Emma’s artwork is going into a special trust fund that has been set up for her. As always, Emma will also be donating 10% of proceeds from this book as well as any sales from her Etsy shop.
